CONGRESS LOGO

The logo for the 13th DOHaD World Congress features Inti, the revered Inca deity of the sun, who holds profound significance across various Latin American cultures. As the radiant source of light and life, Inti symbolized vitality, abundance, and the cyclic renewal of the natural world. His importance extended beyond religious realms, influencing societal structures, agricultural practices, and political ideologies. Even today, remnants of Inca sun worship persist in Andean cultures, underscoring the enduring legacy of Inti as a symbol of cultural identity and spiritual connection across Latin America. These aspects align with the principles of both DOHaD and One Health concepts, represented by the sails encircling the sun god and the color palette reflecting the DOHaD Society’s identity. Additionally, the logo features a poignant homage to the Women’s Bridge, a landmark from Buenos Aires, symbolically connecting DOHaD and One Health.

The logo design is a creative fusion of ideas from Dr. Jenna Haverfield and Mr. Felipe Serrano. Dr. Haverfield, a seasoned scientist with over a decade of expertise in reproductive and developmental biology, earned her Ph.D. from Monash University in Australia and completed postdoctoral training in the UK and Canada. Currently, she leads DERIVE, a cutting-edge interdisciplinary project at McGill University, exploring gene-environment interactions in complex diseases. Mr. Felipe Serrano, a biologist with a master’s in molecular and cellular biology from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, brings his scientific knowledge to life through his work as a scientific illustrator. He creates captivating illustrations for publications, scientific covers, book designs, logos, brochures, and various documents for laboratories, research centers, and universities. Final artistic adjustments were skillfully handled by the Art Creation Team at MetGroup in Buenos Aires.
